E-commerce exploded to such extent that In the current days it has become hard to find a respectable business without the e-commerce counterpart to its brick-and-mortar venue.
In my e-portfolio I explain some of the IT advancements which facilitate the operations of e-systems. I tried to explain the differences between most popular programming languages used for creating on-line applications i.e. Java and .NET, which have become a linchpin for e-commerce operations platform. I also reflect on the database technologies, in my case a MS SQL 2008 Server, which in most cases paired up .NET language, .NET framework, IIS and ASP or ASP.NET has been one of the favorite choices for e-commerce focused applications development. Finally I talk about Ajax, XML , and a variety of client side scripting languages.
